The outpatient retail pharmacy at Billings Clinic plays a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to hospital patients being discharged, community members, and hospital employees. This well-staffed pharmacy offers a high pharmacist-to-technician ratio, ensuring efficient workflow, pharmacist collaboration and personalized patient care. Pharmacists work four 10-hour shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays. Shift start times are 6 AM, 7 AM, 7:30 AM, 8AM and 11 AM. Pharmacists also have the opportunity to precept interns, residents, and students.
Special programs managed by the pharmacy include clozapine and mifepristone, as well a robust Medication Assistance Program (MAP). The pharmacy team collaborates closely with other pharmacy departments and has an established communication structure with prescribers, ensuring quick and accurate resolution of any medication-related issues.
